Recovery in the Workplace
For Employers
Workplace dynamics are often like those in a family. Consider how often organizations claim to “treat our employees like family” or employees talk about their “work families.” When substance abuse is present, the entire team is affected, and Recovery Navigators can work with employers to best handle these situations:
- When an employee is struggling, RN can coach the employee, their family, and the company team.
- When an employee’s loved one is abusing alcohol and/or other drugs, the employee is understandably concerned and distracted, and probably isn’t delivering their best work. We can work with the family to find the best path to recovery for the entire family.
- Our Pathway to Recovery for Professionals (PRP) customizes a map for the unique needs of leaders who are struggling or who have concerns about a loved one. When discretion, confidentiality and customization are critical, the PRP program can help.
- RN can be an on-call resource for organizations for the times addiction issues arise, advising the employer about the best way to handle these situations.
- We can be an training and educational resource, bringing our lived experience, work experience and training to help organizations understand and deal with addiction.
